Graduate Medical Education professionals carry responsibility for complex systems, educational quality, accreditation, operational continuity, and the success of their programs and trainees. Yet many continue to navigate the most difficult aspects of this work without consistent access to colleagues who fully understand the questions, pressures, and decisions involved.
GME Compass was built on the belief that no GME professional should have to figure everything out alone. Today, we are taking another meaningful step toward fulfilling that commitment.
We are pleased to introduce The GME Compass Commons, a new private professional community created exclusively for GME Compass members.
The Compass Commons provides a trusted space where professionals can connect across institutions, specialties, roles, and career stages; ask meaningful questions; exchange practical insight; share promising practices; and learn from the collective experience of the GME community. Just as important, the Compass Commons creates room to explore the nuanced questions that do not always have a simple answer in a requirement, policy, or procedural guide.
Over time, these conversations will form a living and searchable body of shared professional knowledge shaped by the experiences, challenges, lessons, and successes of GME professionals working in a wide range of environments.
The GME Compass Commons is intentionally grounded in building a village one connection at a time. Every member brings a perspective that may help a colleague approach a challenge differently, recognize an overlooked consideration, or move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Meaningful participation is not limited by title, tenure, specialty, or institutional setting. It begins with a willingness to contribute thoughtfully and learn generously.
